Hong Noodle
Hong Noodle, located at 15100 SE 38th St, Suite 102, Bellevue, WA 98006, is a popular choice for those in search of satisfying and flavorful noodle dishes in the area. Known for its generous portion sizes and reasonable pricing, it has quickly become a favorite spot for locals. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of Chinese and Japanese flavors, blending traditional ramen with fresh ingredients, all served in a self-service cafeteria-style setting.
The menu at Hong Noodle features a variety of ramen options, with the Spicy Tonkotsu and the Nagasaki seafood ramen standing out. The spicy Tonkotsu ramen is a crowd favorite, with a rich, flavorful broth and chewy noodles. Guests can also adjust the spice level, making it customizable to personal preferences. The Nagasaki ramen, a fusion dish, combines shrimp, octopus, grilled onions, and vegetables, offering a twist on traditional flavors. While the broth is well-seasoned, some diners noted that the noodles’ flavor might overpower the broth, creating a slight imbalance.
One of the highlights of the restaurant is the generous portions, which make it a great value for the price. For those on the go, the efficient ordering system and quick food delivery are definite advantages. With a friendly staff and ample parking space, Hong Noodle ensures a comfortable dining experience.
Though the ramen dishes are well-loved, some of the side items, such as the heavily battered chicken karaage and shrimp & vegetable tempura, may not suit everyone's taste. However, the steamed vegetables and mac salad provide light, complementary sides to balance the meal.
Overall, Hong Noodle delivers a solid noodle experience with a variety of options that cater to different preferences, making it a convenient and satisfying dining spot in Bellevue.
Hong Noodle Reviews
I went here for lunch on a Monday as I was a little under the weather and didn't want to go to office, and wanted something soupy especially with the increasingly colder weather as summer is ending. I got the spicy Nagasaki seafood ramen which has shrimp and octopus, along with some grilled onions and vegetables. It is kind of a fusion of Chinese and Japanese flavors, served with a thin ramen noodle. The broth is okay, as there is some nice tonkotsu flavor, though the noodle flavor is a bit too prominent to properly mesh both flavors together well. I also added an egg for $1.50, which turned out to be overcooked, so it was a little disappointing. Fortunately, the place is not busy and you order at a kiosk, and food is fairly quick to arrive. I was in and out in about 20 minutes, and excellent option if you are in a hurry.
Ramen at Hong Noodle is good - flavorful broth and chewy noodles. I got the Spicy Tonkotsu with Pork Chashu Ramen and was able to adjust the spice level to mild. Portions are generous and menu pricing is reasonable compared to Seattle prices. The chicken karaage and shrimp & vegetable tempura were heavily battered and really not to my liking. The steamed vegetables were what you'd expect and the mac salad was on the bland side.
We stumbled upon Hong Noodle by accident. We were trying to go to another restaurant and that place was packed, with a huge line out the door. Sooo, plan B was to check out somewhere else nearby for dinner that had soup. Hence, we came to Hong Noodle. We visited Hong Noodle for dinner on a Wednesday and the place had a few patrons dining in, but wasn't busy. When you walk in, there's a touchscreen where you can order and pay before picking a seat where your food is delivered to your table once it's ready. Simple enough. My partner ordered a bulgogi ramen while I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen. We also shared a teriyaki meat combination plate, which my partner ended up taking most for his lunch the next day since the ramens were a big portion. It didn't take long for our food to arrive and the ramen was solid. I liked the slight char on the pork tonkotsu, which added a nice flavor. The spicy tonkotsu wasn't too spicy, but was good. It was a solid bowl of ramen and had a lot more meat than I expected, which was nice. Of the teriyaki I tried, I thought the beef was overcooked, so would recommend sticking with the chicken here. Hong Noodle is a casual eatery, featuring ramen, teriyaki and other Asian favorites in the Eastgate neighborhood near Safeway. Not a bad place, and I'm glad to have discovered it for a meal that curbed our desire for noods and soup.
Ramen and Teriyaki, you already know this place isn't going to be specialized in anything... but this place gets a 4 star from me due to convenience, fast, good service (its order yourself on tablet, then find your own seat), and value, value, value of food! Wow! You need to check out the portions on these teriyaki plates! Defintiely good for sharing. I had the spicy pork and beef bulgogi. Both was good in flavor, and still moist. Rice wasn't fluffy but it did its job. Comes with a great serving of the common lettuce salad and dressings and a small side of macaroni. Tasted great for a regular teriyaki place. My plate was $15.99! Very reasonable. Priced higher because I got the split option. My husband got the spicy chicken teriyaki for $12.99! What a deal!! Portions was just as huge. I tried the chicken, and it was a bit dry for my liking, but my husband said it's the Seattle way! And that it was how he liked it. Haha My kids got ramen! Their bowls were huge! Of course I tried it and it didn't pass my ramen standards as predicted. But my kids still loved it! It tasted not too bad for a non-dedicated ramen restaurant. Glad we got to try this place. Quick and easy meal. Very tasty. And oh so affordable. Sometimes you just need that!
My new favorite spot in the area. The portions are fairly big for the price. The food is very flavorful. Self service cafeteria style but you can also order at the register too. Friendly staff. Tons of free parking. Checked off all the boxes for me.
